ANi serves students, ages 6 through 21, who are enrolled in public, private or home schools.  We also allot slots for students who are considered disenfranchised or who are aging out of foster care.

Current population served are from 10 counties in West Virginia.  While ANI began in Greenbrier County, it has successfully engaged neighboring counties including Kanawha, Monroe, Pocahontas, Wyoming, Logan Tyler, McDowell, Boone, Fayette, Mercer, and Raleigh.

Of recent there has been a substantial increase in requests for participation from both Greenbrier County students and its abutting counties.  Of the counties ANI serves, ten of them are considered at-risk, distressed, or both according to the Appalachian Regional commission’s Economic Stats Report (2019), while three of them are in a transitional phase.
